From a moving train...

I took these photos from a moving train while returning to Delhi from South. I don't remember the exact place though.

Orchha Fort - Orchha, Madhya Pradesh - Part 1

Orchha, an ancient town in Madhya Pradesh on the banks of river Betwa, is one my favourite places. It was founded in the 15th century and has beautiful temples and tombs and grand forts and palaces.

The Orchha fort is a huge structure consisting of many connecting palaces like the Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal which were built duing different periods.

View from the top of the fort.

Chaturbhuj temple - Orchha, Madhya Pradesh

Orchha is a small town (actually it looked more like a village) in Madhya Pradesh, central India. There are plenty of temples and forts in Orchha, some in ruins and poorly maintained but they are definitely a scene of breathtaking beauty. An example is the Chaturbhuj temple which is an ancient temple built during the 9th century. It looked somewhat neglected. When we went it was drizzling and we couldn't explore it thoroughly because it was kind of deserted and didn't appear quite safe to venture alone.
