Abandoned houses of Ajabgarh

Few days ago we made a trip to Rajasthan. Our plan was to visit the ruins of Bhangarh, which is supposed to be a haunted town, but the driver of our vehicle didn't know about Bhangarh. He thought this was where we wished to go and took us to Ajabgarh. Ajabgarh is close to Bhangarh and this is a village strewn with forts, temples and other ancient structures. What fascinated me the most was this street with old abandoned houses. I don't know how old these houses are but they sure look very old. I don't know why these houses were deserted, but I think they would have been in use until some time ago because I found some sacks stored inside a house. Only a few distane away is the village with more modern houses.

  4. What a fascinating place! My husband traveled to Rajasthan several years ago and I know the place touched him deeply. I hope I'll get a chance to go someday too...it's not so far from where I am in Thailand! :)

  8. What a shame that those lovely houses have been abandoned. Wonder why everyone would just leave them like that? Would be nice to see them all brought back to life. Reminds me of the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Great photos. Best wishes, Tammy
